How did you get involved?

Awarded community preceptor of year by UBSoPPS by class of 2008. At awards  ceremony, Karl was so moved by my acceptance speech he asked me if I was  interested on attending a PAWNY BOD meeting as his personal guest. I was a member  of PAWNY, but only because I “had to” in order to be a preceptor; I was not an active  participant in the organization so I figured going to a meeting would be no big deal.  Well, I was in for a surprise. I was nominated for a BOD position that night, and the rest  is history as they say.

Why do you stay an active member?  I feel it is very important for pharmacy to have good  representation at the “health care professions” table at local, state, and federal levels. I  love the camaraderie we have together and also meeting new pharmacists. Watching  our pharmacy student members develop from P1 year to P4 year and to professional  practice is also very rewarding.

Hobbies: Playing video games, fishing and playing hockey
